Podcast – Going beyond the screens with Reading Uni’s Emily Wyatt

By Matinée Multilingual

In the Seat: Emily Wyatt

Lights, camera and action! A film, theatre and tv graduate from the University of Reading, Emily Wyatt now serves as the Business and Employability Manager for film, theatre and television (phew, what a mouthful!) at her alma mater*.

In this podcast, Emily reflects on her journey post-graduation, shares her past uncertainties in pursuing a career within the creative industries and how she got her unexpected first job at an escape room in Reading.

While working at the escape room, she gained valuable experiences creating props for immersive experiences and games which led to Emily finding her footing albeit in an unconventional way!

After working at the escape room and at Activate Learning, today, she provides support and industry advice to creative students so that future generations are better prepared in forging their career pathways.

Tune in and have a listen to Emily as she shares how her passion for film, theatre and television fuels her mission to bridge the gap between education and industry.
